join us for the 2022 USA Track & Field New England 5K Championship on Sunday, November 13th, 2022 at the Needham high school!

BIGGSteps promotes everyday ways people can reduce the risk of developing cancer and is a family-friendly event that attracts both casual and elite runners. All entry fees and other race proceeds benefit the Sean D. Biggs Memorial Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Location: Needham High School
609 Webster Street, Needham, MA 02494

Time: 8 am to 12 pm. 5K start is at 10:30. After party starts at 12pm. See Event Schedule for detail.

Entry Fee: 5K registration is $35 through Friday, November 11 and $40 thereafter. 5K registration for youth (17 & under) is $25. Registration for the 1-Mile Walk is $25 [Note: the 1-mile walk will not be timed]. Kids Dash registration is $10.   

Runners will receive long-sleeve tech t-shirts from New Balance. Quantities may be limited.

Packet Pickup: We will be holding a race packet & bib pickup event on Saturday, November 12th in the cafeteria at Needham High School from 12 pm to 3 pm. We recommend picking your packet up early!

Race Course:  The 5K course is USA Track and Field certified. Course maps are here.

Awards and Prize Money: All 5K registrants are eligible for plaques awarded to the fastest three overall male and female runners and medals awarded to the top three male and female runners in each age group. USA Track & Field New England member runners and member clubs are eligible for prize money. A total purse of $2,100 will be awarded to the five fastest overall male and female USA Track & Field member runners and a total purse of $2,400 will be awarded to USA Track & Field member clubs competing in the open and age-group divisions. USA Track & Field guidelines will govern how the race is scored and how prize money is awarded. 

Needham Bank 5K Grand Prix: BIGGSteps is one of five races participating in the 5K Grand Prix sponsored by Needham Bank. Runners who complete at least 3 races are eligible for prize money ($500/$250/$100 M/F open; $100/$75/$50/$25/$10 age-graded) while those who run 4 of the 5 races will receive a free gift courtesy of Needham Bank.
